The tracks of the heroes who reached immortality in the freedom war show the road to freedom.
A voice rises in Kurdistan—the voice of resistance and uprising—upon the sacred land of Medya. The wounds of thousands of years, the pain, massacres, and displacement come to a halt. Kurdistan now cries throughout the world and fear has vanished; the harsh wind of occupation has been defeated before the Kurds. The sun is born anew upon Medya and hopes of freedom sprout again. Zarathustra's fire shines once more in the sacred temples. Suppressed truths will be lived again; steps will be taken toward freedom and people will fight without bowing to betrayal and occupation.
Whenever occupiers invaded Kurdistan, the voice of uprisings never diminished. The Kurds had begun to breathe their Kurdish identity; it was now their time. Resistant Efrîn did not bow to the enemy and gave many heroes to the sacred country in the war of dignity. Efrîn became a symbol of freedom and resistance for the Kurds and Kurdistan.
From the Plains to the Free Mountains
Dunya Dîcle, whose civil name was Sozdar Dîlî Hesen, was born in Şehba into a Kurdish patriotic family. Through her family's awareness she grew up recognizing the Baath regime. From an early age she was not deceived by its anti-human assimilation policies and protected the essence inherited from her Kurdish family. As Dunya grew, she understood life more deeply and began to research. Guerrilla life and struggle were always before her eyes and strongly affected her.
She constantly wondered how Kurdish young women and men created a new life in Kurdistan's mountains. The revolution developing under the leadership of the fighters of Kurdistan's people and their self-sacrificing war profoundly affected Kurdish youth. As a Kurdish woman, Dunya witnessed this revolution closely.
The gangs that brutally attacked the people found Apoist fighters confronting them with self-sacrificing spirit. Freedom fighters waged a historic war in Rojava and cleared the occupiers from its soil step by step. This heroism deeply affected Dunya and gradually awakened her awareness of the attacks upon Kurdish identity. Following profound reflection, she decided to join and entered the struggle in 2016.
Dunya played an important role in the war against the gangs, developing herself militarily and ideologically at every step and successfully fulfilling all duties within the Rojava Revolution. To become worthy of Leader Apo's and the martyrs' labor, she set course for the abode of heroes, Kurdistan's mountains.
The March Toward Amediyê Hill
The mountains became temples of freedom for the Kurdish people. Whenever occupation and annihilation targeted them, the Kurds never bowed but built trenches of liberation in the rugged mountains and fought a war of dignity with weapons in their hands and anger in their hearts. With this awareness, the avenging woman Dunya marched from Rojava's plains toward the free mountains and reached the guerrilla temple.
When Dunya entered the fields of war and saw the majestic mountains, she rejoiced. She wished to build a Zîlan-like stance upon those rocks and cliffs and therefore entered the Special Forces directly. With self-sacrificing bearing and determination she went to the fortress of resistance, Amediyê Hill.
In Western Zap She Struggled Like Zîlan
Dunya received basic training on Amediyê Hill, gained extensive experience, and mastered techniques and weapons. She listened to her comrades attentively and with great desire and curiosity, learning rapidly.
She completed her training successfully and became a specialist guerrilla in the Special Forces. To follow the great self-sacrificing pioneer Zîlan and become worthy of freedom's Fedai, she joined all work on Amediyê Hill with her full strength. Through sacrifice and her smiling face she won a place in every comrade's heart. Through love of life and attachment to her aim she continually deepened herself and participated in life accordingly.
In the tracks of every martyr a new will and hope sprouted. Each became a guide for those behind and opened the road to freedom; each became a light upon the sacred mountains. The radiance of those heroes raised hopes of freedom in dark skies and grew brighter each day. With their blood they planted saplings of hope and freedom and became signs of freedom throughout the country.
With great effort and desire, Dunya stood against every hardship in Zap through Apoist will, displayed a worthy stance, and through her resolve became part of the free mountains.
Fighter of the Martyr Savaş Maraş Offensive
From childhood until her step toward freedom, Dunya heard painful stories of continuous war in the sacred country. Yet painful days receded, the sun rose anew, and suppressed truths returned to life. Today thousands of young women and men fight for the country's dignity, breaking through the earth like new shoots. With immense will they hollowed rocks and made them fortresses of resistance. In those fortresses the heroic Dunya fought the occupation and played a major role in the Martyr Savaş Maraş Offensive.
The Turkish army launched a broad war to eliminate Kurdistan's freedom movement in Zap, Heftanîn, Metîna, Avaşîn, and Xakurkê. Yet the occupiers' attacks met guerrilla preparations and suffered major defeat while fierce battles unfolded in the free areas. Each Turkish attack was answered by heavier blows from the fighters of the Martyr Savaş Maraş Offensive. The Turkish state was ultimately forced to acknowledge its defeat in the Xabur battle and the offensive.
With experience from Amediyê Hill, Dunya played a major role as a sniper in the enemy's defeat. In Zap she met valuable commanders and fighters and was deeply influenced by their stance. She was happy to share comradeship and fight beside these self-sacrificing companions in Amediyê's trenches.
Farewell to the Heroic Goddess
Dunya reached martyrdom in a Turkish-state attack in 2024 and joined Kurdistan's caravan of immortals. With complete modesty and great sacrifice she took part in the hardest work. She stood like a shield before Zap's difficulties and possessed the strength to solve every problem. Through her smile and sincere comradeship she became an example of true comradeship for all.
Let Amediyê Hill tell of your heroism in war. Let Bahar Hill recount how you targeted and struck the cowardly, self-selling soldiers. Let the slopes you crossed speak of your precious tracks; let the wounded cave and Martyr Pîrdoxan Hill tell of your love. Let all four parts of Kurdistan say how heroic you were, and the silent stars relate your sacred dreams. Let them tell Kurdistan's heroes never to leave the revenge of Apoist Dunya upon the ground.
